One of the young outlaws of Australian music, our friend and country purist James Thomson will return to Dashville Skyline in 2018.

With a cookin' live band in tow, Thomson will return to Dashville with a new record under his belt.

In February 2018 Thomson recorded his third album at Melbourne’s Union Street Studios with Engineer Rodger Bergodaz at the helm. In just six days, Thomson and an all-star band featuring Steve Hadley (Paul Kelly, Tex, Don and Charlie), Shane Reilly (Lost Ragas), Tracy McNeil and Sean McMahon crafted a truly special album and a superbly assured nod to the 1970s country-soul/rock and roll sound perfected by artists like The Faces and Neil Young. Thomson’s superb writing and musicianship should have already made him known to a wider audience but the release of his eagerly awaited third album in late 2018 is set to make sure his mark on Australian music is a permanent one.

PRAISE FOR JAMES THOMSON

"Thomson’s debut album was an introduction to a songwriter already sounding beyond his years in terms of his songs and their lived-in delivery. That promise has been refined and stylistically expanded on this exceptional follow-up." - The Music

"The moment Cold Moon stirs to life you're reminded of those  softer-spoken Heartworn Highway Outlaws - Guy Clark, Rodney Crowell, Townes Van Zandt. There's no agenda besides telling the story via the path of least resistance." - Rhythms Magazine
