What's it all about?
Dashville Skyline - Cosmic Country Weekender is a super laid back, family friendly, music festival held at Belford in the Hunter Valley over three days (the Labour Day long weekend) October 4-6, 2019.
Escape to the Hunter Valley countryside and wallow in a laid back music festival full of quality country music in its varying forms from all around the world.
It's a tribute to the traditional art of songwriting by some of today's best songwriters.
It's a showcase of the roots of "alternative country music", from its beginnings in the '60s and '70s to its widespread influence on today's performing artists.
The 2019 festival will be the fifth instalment of this growing event.
You can come visit for the day, or camp onsite for 1, 2 or 3 days. Various entry options exist in an effort to make it achievable for all to experience a slice of Dashville magic. See the ticketing page for a more detailed run down on ticket types and prices.
An incredible seed has been planted with Dashville Skyline. Since its inception in 2015, the artists, the food, the audience, the collaborations and the friendships have engrained themselves in the Hunter's finest musical soil, Dashville, and built a remarkable weekend escape for those free enough to pack the camping gear and roll on up.
It matters little if you're a musical superstar or a musical muppet, what matters is that you're willing to sign up for an awesome weekend away in the bush, kicking back with friends and family, supporting quality live original music and chowing down on the best food and booze money can buy.
Along with the music will come the culture surrounding it: the food, the beer, the cow-lickin', the markets, the cars/bikes and more. All pieces combined, this festival is super chilled and something incredibly special for the whole family to enjoy.
The Dashville team are on to it, so please grab your tickets and get ready for a great weekend in the bush at Belford.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
If you'd like to come to Dashville Skyline on more than one day, simply purchase multiple one-day tickets. To streamline our ticketing system, and create flexibility, one-day tickets can be used on a day of your choosing and are not assigned to specific days.
You are allowed to bring gas bottles, but only if they are in service date (keeping in mind we have amazing food stalls including coffee, so you probably don't really need one). We will have to confiscate gas bottles at the gate that are not within their service date.
The campground is expansive but is at the mercy of the natural vegetation and at the last couple of festivals there has been some issues with caravans acquiring excessive space (which in turn eats into the space of those with a more humble set up). You can still bring your caravan/camper but if it is over 20ft you will need to purchase a pass for it beforehand. These are limited in number to allow us to control the amount of caravans into the site and better facilitate space requirements for all.
If you want to camp with mates, we recommend arriving together or as closely together as possible. Reserving space can get tricky, as we have a lot of campers to fit in. It's definitely best to arrive when gates open to get the best spot.
Yes, most people park alongside their tent if there is room. But it's best to get to Dashville when gates open.
Unfortunately no pets are allowed at Dashville events.
No personal fires in the campground. Do not bring firewood. We are bound by State fire restrictions, and the campground and surrounding areas are very much dense bushland. We generally have communal fires inside the arena, which you are welcome to sit around until 3am... if that helps.
Yes, we frequently have wheelchair-bound music lovers at our events. The arena gently undulates and is easy to navigate.
Phone reception for texting and calls is fine at Dashville. But, in regards to the internet on your phone, reception can be a little fussy. However, based on feedback from punters at previous events, internet reception is often available at Dashville.
All vehicles will be searched by our security staff on the way through Dashville’s main gate.
We have a large block of private shower cubicles to cater to the needs of all campers and there are always a sufficient number of portaloos within the arena and campgrounds.
Yes, deckchairs and picnic blankets are allowed and encouraged.
Small generators are permitted but please be respectful of your fellow patrons in regards to noise. Switch off the genny when others are trying to sleep.
No. However, if you have a medical condition that requires powered equipment, please email us on firstname.lastname@example.org and we will do our very best to have you connected to power.
As Dashville Skyline is a celebration of music and culture, campers will inevitably throw on some tunes in their respective camp areas. We simply ask that you be respectful and kill the volume at a reasonable hour. At midnight, when the festival’s music finishes, there should not be music played in the campground.
NO GLASS anywhere
NO PETS regardless of size
NO BYO FOOD OR BEVERAGE INTO ARENA
NO DIPSHITS OR DIPSHIT-ISH BEHAVIOUR
NO LOUD MUSIC IN CAMPGROUND
NO EXCESSIVE NOISE AFTER MIDNIGHT
NO OPEN FLAME IN CAMPGROUND - it’s a high risk fire danger period.
