Update as of December 6th 2021

Hey everyone,

Late last week we raised an issue regarding Dashville's Return Bonanza Weekend and it's ability to go ahead due to a local council planning issue. Here's the roll out…

The issue hasn't gone away, it's just become more apparent, compounded by the fact that council is currently in caretaker mode due to the local council elections that were running over the weekend.

In order to remove the pressure and risk of waiting on someone else to make a decision on our ability to move forward, we reached out to our community and came up with a great option to move the event down the road to our friends at The Drovers Camp, Branxton.

Initially it was a pretty tough decision, but the further we looked into it, and considering everything at stake, it's a pretty good option. The Drovers Camp is another great local venue, run by great people and in many ways very similar to Dashville with onsite camping, a restaurant, bar and a big outdoor stage, just 10mins down the road from Dashville.

So this weekend it is all still on!

The Drovers Camp is a great solution, however it only has an approved capacity of 200 adults.

So it means that we have had to make some small changes in ticketing.

The main points are below, and you can read all the info on this weekend by heading here
• It is no longer a free entry event on Saturday. You must have a camping ticket OR a portrait package in order to attend on Saturday. As long as you have a portrait package, you do not need to have a camping/entry ticket if you do not intend on staying past the afternoon.

• Due to the capacity restrictions, Friday Nights concert featuring William Crighton, Jeff Lang and Imogen Clark is almost sold out. Please note Friday night attendees, if you do not have a Saturday portrait package or Saturday camping ticket you will have to vacate the venue by 11am.

• Alongside the all-day family portraits and old fashioned hang time with Santa, its going to be a great family friendly weekend none the less with Saturday's entertainment including The Lairs, The Tall Stories, Cloudbird, CJ Stranger, Angie Who, Lyle Dennis Band, Adam Young and The Down Main and no doubt a few extra bits and pieces as the evening rolls on.

• Update - Dogs are welcome if needed - but please keep them on a lead at all times as the venue has livestock and working dogs.

So we suggest if anyone you intended on hanging out with this weekend, hasn't got a ticket, then please encourage them to grab one as we anticipate that the event will become sold out very soon.

Once again we sincerely apologise to everyone about these last minute changes, we understand its not ideal, but we thank you for your hopeful trust and support in keeping the show on the road.

Yours in good times,

Team Dashville x

Drovers Camp

317 Elderslie Road Branxton.

Basically Dashville's cousin, Drovers Camp is about a 10 minute drive towards the township of Branxton with lush green camping grounds and permanent toilets. Please note, they have no showers so bring some wet ones or your camp shower.

We'll be guests at Drovers so please show them the same respect you show Dashville, clean up after yourself and your four legged friend (keep them on a leash as it's a working property with livestock).

Day time family activity and people hanging out

So what's happening?

Kicking off Friday night...

We'll be kicking off Friday night with a much needed kick in the live-music butt with our first of the Dashville Nights Concert Series - it'll run the same as intended just moved over to Drovers Camp.

Gates open 2pm into the campground - 317 Edlerslie Road Branxton, on your left coming from Branxton - look out for the tall sign.

No BYO for this one

Bar and food opens about 6pm

Live music starts about 7pm

Then on Saturday...

Wake up in serenity at Drovers Camp if you slept Friday night. If you have a Friday camping ticket only you'll grab a bite to eat and check out by 11am (we have a 200 people capacity limit, so the Saturday is now sadly not a free event requiring either a Saturday camping ticket OR a portrait photo package to stay past 11am).

Breakfast and coffee service from 8am to 10am.

If you're arriving Saturday to either camp or get a family snap, roll on in from 10am.

Saturday we'll have kid's entertainment, a couple markets to browse and of course live music to accompany your picnics.

Please pre-purchase your picnic hampers!! We sold out last year.

Saturday night will again feature some great local live music and we encourage everyone to head on out and camp it up for a great weekend of fun and celebration, so we can all wallow in it over some Sunday morning breakfast.

Music starts 12pm - late.

Who's playing Saturday?

Angie Woo (kid's performer) will be keeping the little ones entertained throughout the day.

We've whipped out some of the Hunter Valley's best local bands to have you boppin' while you picnic away out of Drovers Camp's natural amphitheatre.

We'll also have all the familiar Dashville faces on stage towards the end of the night like Ben Leece, Magpie Diaries and a couple other favourites.

Then Sunday...

We'll have our favourite Dashville breakfast on the go, with our coffee station offering some recovery from the night before. They'll then be a lazy check out at 10am.

Dashville Family Portrait Day with Santa

By-pass the big centres and bring your mob out to the great open spaces of Drovers Camp (317 Elderslie Rd Branxton) on Saturday 11th December 2021.

This year we have Edwina Richards taking your family portrait, check out her work by scrolling past Kate's gorgeous pics from lastr year.

After last year’s successful introduction, Dashville is keen to continue in the tradition of this great family day out and make it your new spot for that priceless mob photo.

Please note (edit): good dogs allowed, but please keep them on a lead as there are cows/sheep/other livestock on site and working dogs.

Get your piccy taken and spread out for a delicious picnic with friends and family for an afternoon full of live music, family portraits, a couple local markets and kid's activities. We'll have a cafe operating on-site for Dashville's usual breakfast, lunch and dinner menus.

This is a fully licenced event - no BYO alcohol, parental supervision required.

Where is Drovers Camp?

317 Elderslie Road Branxton.

Why is it at a new venue?

We've had a big battle with council... it's a long 2 year story. If you'd like to know more... head here. This is a newsletter we wrote December 4th 2021.

Why is it no longer free?

Our free Christmas party portion of the event is cancelled as Drovers Camp have a 200 person capacity limit for events in such sort notice. So to track people on site you'll either grab a Christmas portrait package for your group or grab camping tickets to stay the night Saturday.

Will Santa be stopping by?
Yes he will!! He'll be joining your family portraits if you'd like him to.

How much is our family portrait and what do we receive?
There's a few different options to select from, the base rate is $15 for a digital image. All the options will be listed on the ticketing website closer to December.

Is this a COVIDSafe event?
Yes, of course. Please be mindful in order to attend you will need to abide by the Public Health Order, including vaccination.

Can we BYO picnic?
Yes, you can. There will be food available if you’d like to purchase picnic style food and dinner on the day. No BYO alcohol and no glass.

Can we bring our dog?
Yes! Please keep them on a lead at all times and pick up after them.

Can we camp?
Yep! Please note there are no showers. Book your camp site through the above ticket button.

What facilities are at Drovers Camp?

There are toilets, but no showers. We'll have a bar and food covered for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Please bring cash as usual as we often have eftpos issues as Dashville anyway. We'll have an ATM. Internet isn't the best, we tested our Telstra devices and got a little service around site.
