DASHVILLE SKYLINE IS ON THE HORIZON
Please welcome the first round of acts for 2018.
Australia’s very own Cosmic Country Weekender, Dashville Skyline, returns this September to the hallowed bushland of Dashville in the Hunter Valley, NSW.
Unfolding over the Labour Day long weekend, Friday 28th, Saturday 29th and Sunday 30th September 2018, the fourth instalment of this magical boutique festival will feature not one, but two, of its biggest headliners.
At the top of the list is THE WAIFS, a band 25 years young. Featuring the unmistakable voices of sisters Vikki Thorn and Donna Simpson, this acclaimed, evergreen band will make their Dashville debut this September. Last year's record Ironbark took the band into dustier Americana territory and, as luck will have it, their travels will finally bring them to our neck of the woods.
C.W. STONEKING first visited Dashville in 2012 for The Gum Ball. Now he returns, fresh from a tour of Europe and dates alongside Queens of the Stone Age, to bring his solo show to Dashville. A living anachronism, C.W. will fill our arena with that unmistakable voice and old-time blues guitar.
After a barn-storming performance at this year's Gum Ball festival, we had to invite them back. HAT FITZ & CARA will be at Skyline 2018, where Dashvillians will dance to their irresistible marriage of drums and stomping guitar.
If you haven't experience the high-energy blues-laced roots rock of 19-TWENTY, then now's the time. The hard-touring, 100 per cent independent band are heading to Dashville Skyline will whip the Dashville arena into a full-throttle hoedown. Bring your dancing shoes.
You might recognise the distinctive heady atmospherics of brothers Dan and Joel Crannitch from their days in Leader Cheetah. But now they've reunited to form THE SAN SEBASTIAN and released a stunning record called Alive on the Black Sea. The new outfit is indie rock with distinct country influences and dreamy production.
Rounding out the bill is the high-octane folk rock of THE SETTLEMENT, wild blues country outfit PAPA PILKO & THE BINRATS, returning Skyline hero DAVEY CRADDOCK, country chanteuse TORI FORSYTH, Sydney gang JAMES ELLIS & THE JEALOUS GUYS, Perth rockers RALWAY BELL, old-school country duo THE SWEET JELLY ROLLS, accomplished singer-songwriter and guitarist CAT CANTERI, gothic-folk chanteuse RUBY GILBERT, Sydney songsmith SAM NEWTON, local Hawaiian jazz legends THE HIGH ANDIES and seasoned performer STEEL CITY SUE.
In 2018, Dashville Skyline will extend to three full days and feature over 40 incredible acts in the Americana, alt-country, psychedelia, folk and bluegrass genres. The festival includes on-site camping, delicious American-inspired food trucks, delicious beers and wine, and market stalls. Dashville Skyline is every bit as family friendly as its older brother, The Gum Ball, so people of all ages are very welcome (punters under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a legal guardian).

A FLIPPIN' RECORDING STUDIO!
One of the most exciting features of Dashville Skyline last year was the on-site recording studio. With the help of Sawtooth Studios, Newcastle, punters were able to book a window and lay down a professional recording, with proceeds going to mental health support. The Dashville team has some plans to take this concept to the next level, with details revealed soon.
ALTERNATE ACCOMMODATION OPTIONS
As you know, all tickets to Dashville Skyline include camping in whatever fashion you desire.
But if you're a little extra special and after an experience slightly better than what you or your carer is able to provide, you should investigate the convenient new service of Camplify which is a community driven caravan and camper hire platform. A bit like AirBnB but for caravans.
Another pamperous option is the pimpin' pastural glamping through the guys at Simple Pleasures. They do a great job and have been supplying to many happy customers at Dashville over the last few years.
