WAAX, Stone Lions join Thrashville 2017

Dashville has been frothing on this news... we've added some more bands to Thrashville 2017.

Brisbane’s WAAX are an exciting inclusion to the program, bringing their punk-infused rock to Dashville’s idyllic bushland surrounds.

They are joined in the second announcement by Central Coast pop punk trio Stone Lions.

This follows on the news that comedian Aaron Gocs will MC Thrashville.

WAAX have been getting a lot of love from Triple J lately, with tracks ‘I for an Eye’, ‘Same Same’ and ‘Holy Sick’ played nationally. They’ve quickly garnered a reputation as a tight, melodic and volatile live act, spurned by Marie DeVita’s raw energy and unbridled stage presence.

On the Triple J Unearthed website, the band received glowing praise from studio director Richard Kingsmill, who had this to say in his 4-star review of ‘Wisdom Teeth’: “Took me approximately one tenth of a second to like this track.”

Stone Lions have just dropped debut EP, Necking on and Kicking Off, Pt.1, and it’s a sound that celebrates the pure pop energy of ‘90s punk. It’s no surprise that the trio is fresh from support slots with Unwritten Law. A band to keep your ear on.

Fun times await.
